Who Shouldn’t Come to a Soul Alchemy Session — and What to Do Instead

When you are profoundly tired, another Soul-searching conversation may not be the place to begin. Nessa Wei explains when restoration through a Healing Session should come before Soul Alchemy.

Who Shouldn’t Come to a Soul Alchemy Session — and What to Do Instead

There are times when you do not need another question.

You do not need to explain the situation from the beginning, consider three possible futures or work out what your exhaustion is trying to tell you. You may already have spent months thinking, coping and trying to keep everything moving.

Now you are not simply uncertain. You are depleted.

If you are waking tired, struggling to settle even when you have time to rest or finding that ordinary decisions require more energy than you have, I would not ask you to begin by doing more inner work.

I would ask what might help you recover enough to meet your life again.

For many people, that means beginning with a Healing Session rather than a Soul Alchemy Session.

A Soul Alchemy Session asks for your participation

A Soul Alchemy Session is for a situation you want to understand more clearly: a decision, a relationship, a repeated pattern or a threshold you cannot quite cross.

It is a live, collaborative process. We talk about what brought you and explore what may be happening beneath the story you already know. I may offer a question, an image or something I perceive through the work. We notice your response and let that shape where we go next.

The session may include conversation, bodily awareness, meditation or shamanic techniques. Your voice matters throughout. You can say that something resonates, that it does not make sense, that you disagree or that you need to pause.

You do not need to arrive with an answer. You do need enough available energy to notice, respond and remain present to the exploration.

When you are profoundly tired, even that can be too much.

When exhaustion has become the whole landscape

Perhaps you have reached the point where being asked what you want feels almost impossible.

You may be carrying work, family and other people’s needs. Your Body remains tense when you lie down. You have become irritable with people you love, then guilty about the irritation. You may know that something has to change, but you cannot find the strength to investigate what it is.

This does not mean that you are unwilling to participate in your own life. Understanding that participation matters and having the capacity for it today are not the same thing.

Nor do you have to demonstrate commitment by pushing through exhaustion.

If there is very little energy available, restoration comes first.

What happens in a Healing Session

A Healing Session begins with a conversation about what has been difficult, how you have been feeling and what you would like me to know. You can arrive with an unfinished question or simply describe what has been happening.

Then you lie fully clothed on the treatment table and receive the work.

My approach draws on Plant Spirit Medicine and Daoist practices. Depending on the session, I may work with stones, channelled energy, my healing drum, Koshi bells or shamanic rattles. The intention is to support balance across Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit and to work with the Meridians and Energy centres within this understanding.

Most people rest while I work. You do not have to sustain a long conversation, interpret an image or make a decision. There are no expectations for a particular feeling or an emotional release.

You can speak if something feels uncomfortable or overwhelming and you can ask to pause. At the end, we make time to notice how you feel, what seems different and what may still need care.

The Healing Session is not a lesser version of Soul Alchemy. It answers a different need.

Healing first does not mean avoiding the real question

Sometimes people worry that rest is postponement. They know there is a decision to make or a pattern to understand and believe they should go directly towards it.

But there is a difference between avoiding a question and recognising that you do not currently have the resources to meet it.

A Healing Session gives you a period in which very little is required of you. The work is receptive. Its purpose is not to make the decision on your behalf. It is to support restoration so that you may have more clarity and inner resources for whatever comes next.

Afterwards, you may find that rest was what you needed. You may notice a small choice that is now easier to make. Or you may recognise that the situation still needs deeper exploration.

That may be the point at which a Soul Alchemy Session becomes useful.

The difference between the two sessions

Both sessions begin by paying attention to what is happening in your life. Both leave your decisions with you. Neither requires you to produce a particular spiritual experience.

The difference is what the session asks of you.

In a Healing Session, you speak briefly at the beginning, then lie down and receive focused energy work. It is suited to a time when you need rest, restoration and support without having to lead the process.

In a Soul Alchemy Session, we stay in active dialogue. We explore a specific situation together. Your responses, questions and reflections are part of the work because the purpose is to see what has been difficult to see and consider your next step.

One format is not more serious or more advanced than the other. The right place to begin is the one your present capacity can meet.

A simple way to choose

Consider a Healing Session first if you feel so depleted that you do not want to explain, analyse or decide anything else. You may feel tense, unable to rest properly or as though you have been holding yourself together for too long.

Consider a Soul Alchemy Session if you have enough energy to engage with a particular question and want to understand a decision, relationship or repeated pattern more clearly.

If you are unsure, you are welcome to contact me. We can consider which format is more appropriate without asking you to prove how tired you are.

Both Healing Sessions and Soul Alchemy Sessions are available in person in Horsham and London. Soul Alchemy Sessions are also available online.

A Remote Healing Session may be available by request. Please email me at nessa.wei.uk@gmail.com before booking. I will consider what you are experiencing and confirm whether Remote Healing is likely to be a suitable format for you.

When a session is not the first step

Persistent exhaustion can have physical causes that need medical attention. Intense or worsening distress may require appropriate mental health or crisis support. I would not assume that every experience of fatigue has a spiritual or energetic explanation and neither session replaces medical or psychological care.

There are also times when the most supportive next step is sleep, practical help, time away from a demand or a conversation with someone who can change the circumstances contributing to your exhaustion.

Spiritual work should not ask you to ignore what your Body and your life are telling you.

Begin with restoration when restoration is what you need

You do not have to arrive ready for transformation.

Sometimes the honest place to begin is: I have nothing left for another conversation. I need to lie down. I need someone else to hold the structure for a while.

A Healing Session offers that quieter beginning.

When there is more space in you to respond, question and explore, Soul Alchemy is there for the next kind of work.
